Request account deletion
You can delete your TrueLocal account and all associated data at any time. We process deletion requests within 30 days.
Delete instantly in the app
If you can sign in, the fastest way is to delete your account directly from your settings. This happens immediately and cannot be undone.
- 1Sign in to your TrueLocal account
- 2Go to Profile → Settings
- 3Scroll down and tap Delete account
- 4Confirm to permanently remove your account and all data
Request deletion by email
If you cannot sign in or prefer to request deletion by email, contact our Data Protection team. We will verify your identity and process the request within 30 days.

What we delete
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your profile (name, photo, date of birth, address, location)
- All your listings and uploaded photos
- Your chat messages and conversation history
- Reviews you left and received
- Saved items, follows and account settings
- Any active membership or subscription (cancelled immediately)
Data retention
- Account data is deleted within 24 hours of your request.
- Financial records are retained for 6 years as required by tax law, but anonymised.
- Backups are purged on a 90-day rolling cycle.
Important
Account deletion is permanent. Once completed, you cannot recover your account, listings, messages or reviews. If you only want to take a break, sign out instead.
Your GDPR rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"). This page covers that right.
