1. Who we are
TrueLocal is a community marketplace for buying, selling, giving away, donating and sourcing spare or repairable items between local members. By creating an account you agree to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, provide accurate personal details (full name, date of birth, address) and keep them up to date. One account per person.
3. Listings
- Describe items honestly. Mark the correct condition and category.
- No prohibited goods (weapons, counterfeit items, recalled products, live animals, illegal substances).
- Set a fair price. Free items must genuinely be free.
- Photos must be your own and show the actual item.
4. Buying, meeting & payment
- Meet in safe, public places when possible. Bring a friend for high-value pickups.
- TrueLocal does not process payments; cash, bank transfer or in-app agreement is between members.
- Confirm agreed price, meetup point and collection time in chat before travelling.
5. Conduct
Respect every member. No harassment, hate speech, scams, spam or off-platform redirects. Auto-translated messages must still follow these rules in any language.
6. Reliability score
Your reliability score is generated from completed trades, response speed, pickup success, listing accuracy and reviews. We may suspend accounts that fall below community standards.
7. Disputes
Try to resolve issues directly first. If you cannot, report the trade in chat. TrueLocal may mediate but is not party to the transaction.
8. Your data
We store the personal details you provide to verify identity, calculate distance and match you to local trades. You can request export or deletion at any time.
9. Changes & termination
We may update these Terms; significant changes will be flagged in-app. You can close your account at any time from your profile.
